Job summary

Sekankoe is seeking a Sub-Accountant (Revenue and Budget) to join our finance team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. You will process daily cashbook entries, reconcile debtor accounts, prepare invoices, and assist with financial reports.

The role requires a Diploma in Financial Accounting or related field, at least three years' experience, and proficiency with Sage or Pastel and Microsoft Office. A valid Code B driver's license is advantageous; travel and long hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Financial Accounting, Bookkeeping, Financial Management, or a related field.
• At least three years' experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Sage Accounting or Pastel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• A valid Code B driver's licence or higher will be advantageous.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Capture the previous day's cashbook receipts in Sage Accounting.
• Ensure deposits and credit notes are allocated accurately to customer accounts.
• Update the Excel age analysis with receipts.
• Reconcile debtor accounts.
• Contact customers regarding outstanding accounts and record relevant comments in the Excel age analysis.
• Prepare sales invoices for management approval.
• Attend to customer queries through to resolution.
• File and organise electronic and hard-copy documents.
• Prepare financial reports.
• Perform general administrative tasks as required.
