Job summary

Keenfinity is seeking a Research Intern to explore how smartphones can transform participant identification at professional conferences. You will work on a forward‑looking project that blends user experience, security, and system design.

You will analyze NFC card solutions, investigate smartphone-based approaches, and develop concepts that integrate into the Keenfinity ecosystem. The internship lasts six months with a monthly allowance and flexible remote work options.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Dutch not required.
  • Basic programming skills in Java, Kotlin, C/C++, or Python.
  • Interest in mobile app development (Android or iOS).
  • Basic understanding of NFC or wireless communication technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Rethink identification by analyzing the current NFC card solution and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Explore smartphone-based approaches such as NFC, BLE, and app-based authentication.
  • Design innovative concepts and outline integration into the Keenfinity ecosystem.
  • Balance usability and security in your concepts with attention to user experience and data security.
  • Make data-driven comparisons between the new concept and the existing system, highlighting benefits and feasibility.

As a Research Intern, you will explore how smartphones can transform the way participants are identified in professional conference environments. You’ll work on a forward-looking topic that combines user experience, security, and system design.

  • Rethink identification – Analyze the current NFC card solution and uncover opportunities for improvement
  • Explore new technologies – Investigate smartphone-based approaches such as NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and app-based authentication
  • Design innovative concepts – Develop a future-proof identification solution and define how it integrates into the Bosch DICENTIS ecosystem
  • Balance usability & security – Evaluate how your concept performs in terms of user experience, reliability, and data security
  • Make data-driven comparisons – Assess your solution against the existing system and highlight key benefits, trade-offs, and feasibility
Requirements:

We are looking for a student whodemonstratesan open and proactive attitude, with a strong ability to take initiative. You should be able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively andmaintaina high levelof organization. The ideal candidate will alsopossessthe following qualifications:

Proficiencyin English, both verbal and written;Proficiencyin Dutch is not a requirement

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or relevant

  • You have basic programming skills (e.g. Java, Kotlin, C/C++, or Python)
  • You’re genuinely interested in mobile app development (Android or iOS)
  • You bring a basic understanding of NFC or wireless communication technologies

You have a nationality of an EU member state or if not, you are a student at a Dutch university

You must be available for 6 months

Youare located inthe Netherlands andpreferablyresidewithin reasonable travel distance from Eindhoven
