As a consultant, you will work closely with client engineering teams to support the development and continuous improvement of technical systems that combine mechanical structures, electronic components and integrated functionalities. Depending on the project, you will contribute to defining technical requirements, reviewing supplier designs and verifying that solutions meet stringent safety, functional and quality standards.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working at system and component level, translating technical needs into clear requirements and ensuring that designs comply with applicable standards. You will combine technical analysis and verification with structured documentation and close collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure requirements are clear, traceable, measurable and verifiable.
  • Review technical designs, models and documentation delivered by external engineering suppliers.
  • Define and perform verification activities to demonstrate compliance with established requirements.
  • Assess functional performance, mechanical safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), reliability and other relevant technical aspects.
  • Review verification results, identify gaps and support the resolution of non-conformities.
  • Perform and contribute to risk assessments, including FMEA/DFMEA, and identify potential failure modes.
  • Create, review and maintain technical documentation in accordance with established quality management systems and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, testing, quality, manufacturing and service teams.
  • Take ownership of deliverables and contribute actively to multidisciplinary and Agile project teams.
Your Profile
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in requirements engineering, systems engineering, design verification or testing.
  • Proven experience writing, reviewing and maintaining technical documentation in a structured engineering environment.
  • Experience translating technical and stakeholder needs into clear, testable requirements.
  • Experience reviewing designs and verifying compliance against defined requirements.
  • Familiarity with risk analysis methods such as FMEA/DFMEA.
  • Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices, automotive, aerospace or another environment with stringent quality and safety requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A proactive, analytical and structured working approach, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with clients and international teams.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in the medical-device industry.
  • Knowledge of IEC 60601 or other relevant industry-specific safety standards.
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
  • Experience working with external suppliers and reviewing supplier deliverables.
  • Familiarity with Agile or SAFe ways of working.
