YO AI Labs seeks a Research Engineer to contribute to code generation, software engineering, and AI model evaluation. This remote contractor role focuses on coding tasks to train and improve next-generation AI systems.

Work across Python 3, Java, Rust, C++, Go, or TypeScript to implement features, refactor for performance, and assess AI-generated code. Strong problem-solving and independent remote work are required.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in at least one of Python 3, Java, Rust, C++, Go, or TypeScript.
• Experience debugging, feature implementation, refactoring, and performance tuning.
• Open-source contributions or collaborative project experience.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of remote work.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, debug, and resolve issues across codebases using multiple languages.
• Implement new features and enhancements for code generation workflows.
• Refactor and optimize code for performance and scalability.
• Develop and review coding tasks to evaluate AI-generated code.
• Provide clear feedback and annotations to support model training and evaluation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on software quality and technical direction.
• Document technical decisions, solutions, and best practices.
