Job summary

Elsevier in Amsterdam seeks a Marketing Manager to plan our marketing strategy and implement communication plans for our Science, Technology, and Medical Journals division. You will lead global campaigns, collaborate with publishing teams, and manage budgets to optimize spend.

You will work with senior leaders, develop key messages for authors and products, and analyze market trends to identify opportunities while traveling up to two times per year to diverse locations.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and implementing marketing and communication strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product and marketing strategy.
• Strong organizational skills and strategic thinking with a creative analytical approach.
• Interest in digital marketing trends and willingness to experiment with new approaches.
• Data-driven mindset with ability to derive insights and improvements.
• Natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to diverse locations across Europe, the US and Asia up to 2 times per year.

Responsibilities

• Developing marketing communications strategies and implementation plans for products, portfolios and projects.
• Managing budgets and planning for campaign forecasting to ensure effective use of expenditure.
• Collaborating with publishing teams to identify target market segments and communication gaps, to develop key messages for author and product communications.
• Working with Senior Managers and stakeholders to establish and implement best-practice global communication strategies.
• Establishing, managing and maintaining excellent contacts with key stakeholders within the business to build and develop success relationships.
• Researching business trends, competitor analysis and opportunities to help optimise new and ongoing campaigns
