Job summary

Nerdio is seeking a Development Manager to lead a 10-person software team across three core products. This dual-track role combines people management with meaningful IC work, and you will own coaching, performance, and the health of your team while continuing to write production code.

The ideal candidate is a strong C# engineer transitioning to management, thrives in a fast-growing environment, and balances shipping great software with building a great team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in C#/.NET.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience, including direct people management responsibilities.
• Hands-on IC while managing a team; you still write and ship code regularly.
• Strong foundation in software architecture, system design, and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to develop engineers and retain top talent.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a growing team of 10 engineers across three product groups, fostering ownership and accountability.
• Run effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations.
• Set and uphold high standards for code quality and engineering practices.
• Contribute production-ready C# code as an embedded IC within one of the product teams.
• Participate in architectural design and technical decision-making.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide guidance on system design, scalability, reliability, and security.
