An opportunity for an experienced Regulatory Risk & Compliance Specialist to join a leading financial institution in the Netherlands. You will support a regulatory adherence attestation programme covering a priority set of material regulations, working closely with regulatory owners and subject matter experts to assess the quality, consistency and completeness of regulatory adherence conclusions.
This role is suited to an experienced compliance, regulatory risk, non-financial risk, audit or quality assurance professional who combines strong analytical judgement with the confidence to challenge stakeholders constructively. You should be comfortable reviewing complex regulatory evidence, identifying gaps and inconsistencies, and translating findings into clear conclusions and management information for senior governance.
Responsibilities:
- Support the roll‑out and completion of the regulatory adherence attestation questionnaire.
- Prepare and facilitate discussions with regulatory owners and subject matter experts before and after questionnaire completion.
- Review questionnaire responses and supporting evidence, including controls, findings, documentation, self‑assessments and sign‑off.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies and conclusions requiring further clarification or substantiation.
- Provide constructive, evidence‑based challenge to regulatory owners and stakeholders.
- Support the formulation of regulatory adherence conclusions and identify emerging themes and trends.
- Contribute to management information and reporting for senior governance bodies.
- Document findings, observations and recommendations arising from quality assurance reviews.
- Draft clear documentation covering the regulatory adherence assessment methodology, process, roles, monitoring and reporting approach.
- Deliver high‑quality written outputs within agreed timelines and support completion of the agreed material regulations within the assignment period.
Requirements:
- 4–10 years of experience in Regulatory Compliance, Regulatory Risk, Non‑Financial Risk, Audit, Quality Assurance or Regulatory Governance.
- Experience working within a highly regulated financial institution, preferably within banking.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with regulatory adherence assessments, attestation processes, supervisory findings and\/or remediation activities is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing materials for executive committees, regulatory committees or senior governance forums is advantageous.
- Master's degree preferred in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, Compliance or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities with a quality‑assurance mindset.
