Internship Overview

Internship in the Regulatory Affairs team at Koninklijke Verkade Nederland, based in Zaandam, starting September 2026.

The internship provides the opportunity to work with a range of global brands such as Verkade, Sultana, McVitie’s, Godiva, and others. You will be involved throughout the product development cycle—from recipe creation to final packaging design—supporting the regulatory team across the Netherlands and France.

Responsibilities

• Implement EU labelling legislation and related regulations on products within Europe (focus on Netherlands and France).
• Conduct label checks and verify compliance with legal requirements.
• Enter recipes into databases (e.g., Hamilton Grant) and prepare product specifications.
• Check potential claims and assess conditions for their usage.
• Prepare pack copies of artworks and conduct final art checks in collaboration with Marketing.
• Handle customer requests regarding product information.
• Maintain databases such as Fairtrade and keep them up‑to‑date.
• Support projects including clean labeling, change management, and internal process optimisation.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th‑year student in a university or HBO study focusing on nutrition, dietetics, or legislation.
• Curious, precise, with a positive attitude and good stress tolerance.
• Proficient in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• Available for at least five months (preferably six) with a flexible weekly schedule.
• Open to working five days a week in the Zaandam office or a hybrid arrangement whereby one day may be spent on academic research.
