Job summary

Gi Group is seeking an experienced Regional Ocean Product Manager – Europe to lead the ocean freight strategy across Europe, focusing on pricing, carrier management and profitability. You will build strong relationships with ocean carriers and develop regional capabilities while driving growth.

The role requires senior leadership with a proven track record in negotiations, procurement, and team building. Hybrid work in Randstad and a direct contract with the client are part of the offering.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in freight forwarding, ocean freight, carrier management, or pricing.
• Strong knowledge of ocean freight products across Europe.
• Proven experience with global key account customers.
• Strong background in carrier negotiations, procurement, pricing, and capacity management.
• Experience in a senior management role, building and leading a team of Sales/BD Specialists, Pricing & Tender Specialists.
• Strong commercial mindset, strategic thinking, and ownership.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; French and/or Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the European Ocean product strategy.
• Own regional targets for revenue, TEU, growth, and profitability.
• Identify priority trade lanes, verticals, and customer segments.
• Lead carrier, capacity, allocation, and procurement alignment.
• Support strategic customer opportunities and major tenders.
• Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis.
• Coordinate Product, Pricing, Sales, and Operations decisions.
• Monitor regional performance and lead corrective actions.
• Develop FCL, LCL, and special cargo capabilities.
• Represent Europe within the Global Ocean Product organization.

For an international logistics and transportation organization, we are looking for an experienced Regional Ocean Product Manager – Europe.

In this senior leadership role, you will shape and drive the European ocean product strategy with a strong focus on commercial growth, carrier management, pricing, capacity, and profitability.

• €94,000–€140,000 gross annual salary, including holiday allowance

About the position

As Regional Ocean Product Manager, you will plan and control all aspects of ocean carrier service contract negotiations and procurement. You will contribute to the development of the ocean freight strategy, with the objective of securing competitive pricing and improving overall profitability. A key part of the role is building strong relationships with ocean carriers and maximizing opportunities within ocean freight contracts. In addition, you will build and lead a high-performing team from scratch, creating strong regional capability and accountability.
