Job summary

Avery Dennison is seeking a Reclaim & Screen Preparation Operator for our Zoeterwoude site. You will clean used screens, stretch new mesh and ensure proper tension, safety, and quality across the production line.

The role requires hands-on teamwork, flexibility to assist other departments during peak periods, and strict adherence to safety guidelines when handling chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical background (e.g., technical diploma or relevant experience in screen printing/manufacturing).
• Prior experience with screen stretching or working in a screen printing facility is a strong plus.
• Flexible and all-round mindset; ability to assist other departments as needed.
• Strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE when handling chemicals.
• Physically fit with hands-on attitude (lifting, standing, handling machinery).

Responsibilities

• Cleaning & stripping (Reclaim): Remove ink residue, emulsion layers and adhesives from used frames.
• Screen stretching: Remove old mesh, prep frames and stretch new mesh to required tension.
• Process control & maintenance: Operate and maintain washing stations, tension meters and degreasers.
• Quality control: Inspect cleaned and stretched screens for proper tension and cleanliness.
• Chemical handling & safety: Safely handle, dose and store chemicals and frame adhesives.
• Support colleagues in other departments during peak periods or absences.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.

Job Description

As a Reclaim & Screen Preparation Operator, you are a crucial and versatile link in our production process. You ensure that used printing screens are cleaned safely and thoroughly, and that new mesh is professionally stretched onto the frames. Because you work with chemical cleaning agents, stretching equipment, and industrial washers, safety, precision, and quality awareness are your top priorities.

Additionally, you are a hands-on team player with a flexible mindset: when needed, you willingly step in to assist other departments across the company to help achieve the best overall results.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning & Stripping (Reclaim): Remove ink residue, emulsion layers, and adhesives from used screen frames using chemical cleaning agents and high-pressure washers.
• Screen Stretching: Remove old mesh, prep/sand frames, and professionally stretch new screen mesh onto frames to the required tension levels.
• Process Control & Maintenance: Operate and maintain washing stations, tension meters, and chemical degreasers.
• Quality Control: Inspect cleaned and newly stretched screens for correct mesh tension, damage, and complete removal of grease or ghost images.
• Chemical Handling & Safety: Safely handle, dose, and store chemicals and frame adhesives in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
• Support colleagues in other departments during peak periods or absences (e.g., preparation, finishing, ink mixing, or warehouse work).
• Actively contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment throughout the entire facility.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Vocational/technical background (e.g., technical diploma or relevant experience in screen printing/manufacturing).
• Skills: Prior experience with screen stretching or working in a screen printing facility is a strong plus.
• Mindset: Flexible and all-round; you enjoy varied daily tasks and are eager to assist wherever needed within the company.
• Safety Awareness: Strict adherence to safety protocols and consistent use of required PPE when handling chemicals.
• Physical Fitness: Physically fit with a hands-on attitude (role involves lifting, standing, and handling machinery).
