Job summary

JDE Peet’s offers a Science & Modelling Intern role at our Utrecht headquarters starting March 2027. You will adapt and implement models from literature to deepen our understanding of coffee brewing processes and gain hands‑on experience in data analysis and modelling in a food engineering context.

The internship runs five months with four days in‑office and one day remote, offering a monthly stipend and opportunities to learn from senior Food Research professionals in a global company.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a BSc or MSc program for the internship duration.
• Strong Python and data analysis skills; English fluency required.
• Experience with CFD tools or food process modelling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Model brewing kinetics using literature-based approaches.
• Simulate extraction and mass transfer in brewing systems; analyze results.
• Perform data analysis and visualize model validation outcomes.
• Present findings to internal teams to support knowledge sharing.
• Assist with small-scale experiments to generate/validate data.
