Job summary

Boar's Head Brand in the Netherlands seeks a Food Scientist with strong practical and technical skills in new product and process development for all meat and poultry products. You will translate technical strengths into creative product designs and lead multiple tasks while communicating the department mission and objectives clearly.

The role includes supervising daily projects, training new associates, and leading an effective R&D team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years experience in an R&D environment.
• Computer proficiency with MS Office, Optiva PLM, Oracle, Halogen and other company software.

Responsibilities

• Take measures to ensure internal and external customers total satisfaction.
• Supervise and perform daily projects assigned by department.
• Ensure all new associates are trained and understand all processes.
• Demonstrate leadership and communication skills.
• Help build and maintain an effective R&D team.
• Communicate effectively with customers (internal and external).
• Keep accurate records on all tests performed.
• Ensure SOPs and department requirements are met.
• Participate in long-range planning of the department and product lines.
• Travel up to 50% and lead product testing at other plant locations.
