Job summary

Medtronic plc in Netherlands is seeking an R&D Engineer to design and improve production processes for advanced medical devices, using Lean Six Sigma to drive cost efficiency and quality. You will work hands-on with laser cutting, laser welding, automated assembly and optical measurement systems, collaborating with design, quality, and manufacturing teams through all stages from concept to market launch.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Fluency in Dutch and English.
2–5 years of relevant work experience.
Hands-on mentality in multi-disciplinary teams.
Lean Six Sigma qualification (yellow/green belt) preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and develop manufacturing processes for advanced medical devices to ensure quality, manufacturability and cost efficiency.
Perform process validation activities with understanding of process input–output interactions.
Work hands-on with laser cutting, laser welding, automated assembly, and optical measurement systems.
Collaborate with design, quality and manufacturing to support product design improvements and process readiness.
Apply Lean Six Sigma to analyze production processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable process optimizations.
Support the transfer and scaling of manufacturing processes from concept through validation and market launch.
Document, analyze, and communicate technical results aligning with milestones and regulatory standards.
