SkyTeam in the Netherlands seeks a Director of Research & Development to lead ideation, exploration and transition from concept to MVP. You will coordinate cross-functional efforts across member airlines and internal teams, shaping strategic initiatives from feasibility to PROOF OF CONCEPT and governance proposals.

Qualifications

• Strong airline-industry background and experience in core airline businesses such as PRM, distribution, operational research and e-sales.
• Broad understanding of airline business and technical domains sufficient to assess a variety of potential initiatives.
• Experience in a Business Analyst role is an advantage.
• Excellent facilitation skills enabling diverse groups to reach innovative solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain and present complex concepts and inspire teams.
• Analytical and critical-thinking skills to evaluate complex options and support evidence-based recommendations.
• Ability to work independently on multiple subjects and collaborate effectively in a multicultural matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Ideation and concept generation: align potential initiatives with SkyTeam's strategic goals and gather information to support recommendations.
• Exploration and feasibility: lead research, BRDs, BRDs and POCs, assess challenges and determine feasible product concepts.
• Stakeholder engagement and governance: collaborate with member airlines and internal teams, present options for governance bodies.
• Transition to implementation: coordinate with Digital/Delivery for MVP development and handover of findings and requirements.
