Job summary

SkyTeam Airline Alliance Management Cooperatie U.A. is seeking a Director Research & Development to lead ideation, exploration and feasibility of new business and technology initiatives for the SkyTeam network from concept to proof of concept.

You will coordinate governance, engage senior stakeholders, and drive transition to MVP with Digital/Delivery teams. The role requires a proactive, independent professional who can handle multiple initiatives, collaborate across a multicultural matrix, and

Qualifications

• Strong airline-industry background, with demonstrated experience in core airline businesses such as PRM, distribution, operational research and e-sales.
• Broad understanding of airline business and technical domains, sufficient to assess a variety of potential initiatives.
• Good understanding of relevant technical aspects; experience in a Business Analyst role is an advantage.
• Excellent facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and guide diverse groups towards innovative solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain and present complex concepts and inspire teams.
• Analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to evaluate complex options and communicate evidence-based recommendations.
• Ability to work independently on multiple subjects and collaborate effectively in a multicultural matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Ideation and concept generation: align initiatives with SkyTeam strategic goals and gather info to support recommendations.
• Exploration and feasibility: lead research, build business cases, BRDs and POC prototypes when relevant.
• Stakeholder engagement and governance: collaborate within SkyTeam, engage with senior decision-makers and align options.
• Transition to implementation: coordinate with Digital/Delivery, transfer concept and BRD findings for MVP development.
