Job summary

QuantWare seeks a Quantum R&D Engineer - TWPA to push the boundaries of Josephson Travelling Wave Parametric Amplifiers, translating product specs into TWPA architectures and on-chip components.

You will combine deep knowledge of superconducting microwave circuits with hands-on design and simulation work, contributing to bandwidth, noise performance and integration challenges in a fast, collaborative R&D environment.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent in quantum-limited amplification or related superconducting microwave circuits.
  • Experience with TWPAs/JPAs and non-linear metamaterials.
  • Strong track record of simulations matched to cryogenic data.
  • Excellent communication across disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product specifications into TWPA layouts and circuit designs via simulations.
  • Drive miniaturisation and integrate on-chip peripheral components.
  • Research bandwidth and noise performance, including pump coupling and isolation.
  • Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence roadmaps.
  • Stay current with literature and contribute new ideas to the team.
