Job summary

Barrington James partners with a high-growth hardware startup focused on quantum software and hardware for quantum computing. We are seeking a hardware engineer to drive expansion of the next-generation system, testing, validating, and debugging high-performance electronic hardware at the intersection of high-speed digital, RF, and ultra-low-noise measurement.

You will create test plans, bring up new PCBAs, debug prototypes, generate validation reports, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong background in RF circuit design, simulation and measurements.
• Proficiency with lab equipment and Python for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Create test plans based on hardware specifications for characterization and validation measurements.
• Initial board bring-up of new PCBAs
• Debug hardware prototypes, identifying and resolving signal integrity, noise, and performance issues
• Perform characterization and validation measurements of high-speed digital, RF, and low-noise analog PCBAs, ensuring requirements are met
• Collaborate with design, firmware, and software engineers to debug issues, analyze data, and ensure the design meets requirements
• Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation and validation reports
• Act as a mentor and guide supporting junior engineers
