Groove Quantum in Delft seeks a Quantum automation and control software engineer to build scalable software pipelines for high-throughput qubit characterization. You will translate experimental requirements into reliable control software, collaborating with measurement and systems engineers.
You’ll design production-grade Python tools, develop automation and calibration workflows, and apply Bayesian optimization and machine learning to enable fast, robust quantum experiments in a startup setting.
Location: Delft
Type: Full-time
Be a part of the development of the scalable quantum computer of the future by making the automation and operation software required to operate it.
Groove Quantum is building the scalable quantum computer of the future, based on semiconductor germanium quantum dots. Quantum computing is a rapidly advancing field with the potential to deliver transformative impact across science, industry, and society.
At Groove, we combine our proprietary germanium quantum processor technology with world-class semiconductor manufacturing to define a truly scalable quantum architecture. By integrating our leading semiconductor quantum processors into full-stack, operational quantum computers, we deliver both the hardware and software required to move quantum computing beyond the lab.
Join our multidisciplinary R&D team to develop and build scalable quantum systems. We are currently looking for a Quantum automation and control software engineer to play a key role in building a robust software pipeline that enables automated, high-throughput characterization of quantum-relevant metrics across thousands of qubits.
In this role, you will work closely with our measurement engineers and systems engineers to translate experimental requirements into reliable, scalable control software. You will build automation, calibration and control frameworks and algorithms from the ground up that enable high-volume tune-up and characterization of qubit performance metrics. This work spans system-level design as well as the development and implementation of tailored data analysis protocols, combining deterministic and machine-learning strategies for efficient operation. The insights you generate. Your software will enable high-volume characterization of our quantum processors. The insights this generates will feed directly into systems engineering decisions, contributing to the design, optimization, and operation of large-scale quantum systems.
If you are excited about this role but do not meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
Join a fast-growing deep-tech startup operating at the forefront of quantum technology tackling problems that have real impact.
Finally, creating an open, welcoming, and inclusive workplace is a core priority for us. We believe in nurturing a supportive environment where your ideas and proactive approach are valued. As the startup scales over the years, you will have the opportunity to grow and evolve alongside us.
