APG Asset Management Amsterdam seeks a Quant Developer to join the Infrastructure EU Team, focusing on its private markets analytics platform. You’ll work with portfolio managers, researchers and engineers to build scalable data tooling that supports the investment process for the EUR 32bn global infrastructure portfolio.

You should have a strong quantitative background and 3–5 years of data engineering experience, with Python, SQL, Git and cloud-native capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or higher) in quantitative disciplines (Math, Stats, CS).
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in data engineering and analytics.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Git; clean coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with portfolio managers, researchers, and engineers within the global team to translate ideas into high-performance tooling.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and cloud-native applications.
• Perform thematic research with a quantitative angle on topics impacting underwriting of the investment portfolio.
• Develop and enhance data-driven analytics and LLM platform used in investment decisions.

Quant Developer, Research & Analytics, Infrastructure EU Team

The role

APG Asset Management Amsterdam is looking to hire a Quant Developer to join the growing Infrastructure team of private markets. Reporting to Research & Analytics Infrastructure Lead, the role is a pivotal element both in the development of a global Infrastructure analytics platform and the investment process for the Infrastructure portfolio. Combining an interdisciplinary array of private data points ranging from climate risk data, reputational risk datasets, GRESB and core financial datasets, this analytics platform enables efficient bottom-up research on private infrastructure investments, combined with top-down oversight. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing platform that is instrumental in the investment decision process and management of a EUR 32bn worldwide infrastructure portfolio.

This is an ideal role for candidates with a quantitative background, experience in financial data modelling with a strong focus on code scalability and robustness, and who want to learn more about the private infrastructure market.

What you bring

This role requires not only strong technical capabilities but also the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across regions. Success in this position depends as much on collaboration and communication as it does on coding and analytics.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud solutions, and microservices.
• Experience with agentic engineering is a plus.
