Job summary

HENSOLDT Netherlands is seeking a Quality and Configuration Manager to establish and develop the QMS and delivery model, aligning with ISO 9001 and AQAP while delivering hands-on quality assurance across active NLD project work.

You will report to the Senior Project Manager and collaborate with the General Manager, the ILS Manager, and external auditors; you will lead CM activities, ensure lifecycle QA, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of QMS and AQAP in defence projects.
• Experience establishing QMS in small or growing organisations.
• Experience in configuration management within complex delivery environments.
• Familiarity with CM standards (EIA-649, DEF STAN 05-57, NATO).
• Auditing, non-conformance investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Dutch and English business fluency; security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position: Quality and Configuration Manager

Reporting to: Senior Project Manager

Location: The Netherlands

Direct Reports: None

Fulfils a dual mandate that goes beyond individual programme support. At the corporate level, establish and continuously develop the HENSOLDT Netherlands (HENSOLDT NLD) quality management system and delivery model, shaping how the entity operates now and as it scales. At the project level, provide hands‑on quality assurance and configuration management across active NLD project deliverables.

Requires both strategic thinking and operational discipline, offering significant scope for personal contribution and long-term professional growth. The role interfaces directly with the General Manager, the Senior Project Manager, the ILS Manager, the NLD MoD quality representative, the HENSOLDT Group QM functions, as well as interaction with suppliers and customers.

Corporate Quality Responsibilities

• Establish together with the HENSOLDT Group QMS the HENSOLDT Netherlands Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and AQAP requirements.
• Support the implementation of the entity-level quality framework, processes, procedures, and governance structures to support the HENSOLDT NLD delivery model.
• Accountable for all relevant management system certifications applicable to HENSOLDT Netherlands.
• Coordinate with HENSOLDT Group Quality functions to ensure alignment with group-level QMS standards and policy.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and quality-mindedness across the HENSOLDT Netherlands team.
• Prepare and present quality KPI reports and quality status to the General Manager.
• Supports internal audit programme and support external/customer audits across the entity.

Project Quality & Configuration Management Responsibilities:

• Act as the responsible Project Quality Manager (PQM)
• Implement and maintain a communication strategy with the customer’s and industry partners’ Quality responsible.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Management Plan (QMP) in accordance with contractual requirements and applicable AQAP requirements, including AQAP 2110 and AQAP 2210.
• Ensure compliance with all quality assurance processes throughout the product life cycle, from design through to delivery and in-service support.
• Plan and conduct internal project and supplier audits and reviews; track corrective actions to closure.
• Manage non‑conformance reporting, root cause analysis, and 8D processes where applicable.
• Establish and maintain the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) in accordance with applicable Configuration Management requirements, including ACMP-2100, ACMP-2009 and ISO 10007.
• Manage the configuration identification, control, status accounting, and audit (CICSA) process across all programme deliverables.
• Support and, where applicable, lead and moderate Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities; document and manage change decisions.
• Control and maintain the project documentation baseline; manage version control and document release processes.
• Support configuration audits (FCA/PCA) with suppliers, customers and (international) program team.
• Support the ILS Manager with configuration‑driven inputs to spare parts management and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of quality management systems and their application in a defence project context (ISO 9001, EN 9100, AQAP series 2110-2210).
• Demonstrated experience in establishing or developing a QMS within a small or growing organisation.
• Demonstrated experience in configuration management within a complex system or product delivery environment.
• Familiarity with relevant CM standards (e.g. EIA-649, DEF STAN 05-57, or equivalent NATO standards).
• Experience conducting audits, non‑conformance investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Strong organisational skills; ability to manage corporate and programme quality obligations concurrently.
• Strategic mindset combined with hands‑on operational capability.
• Good presentation skills; able to communicate QM and CM topics clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
• Business fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain Dutch security clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Completed bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in quality and/or configuration management, preferably within the defence or aerospace sector.
• Lead Internal Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or EN 9100) is strongly preferred.
• Certification in configuration management (e.g. CMPIC, or comparable) is an advantage.
