Job summary

Advantech is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen quality systems and drive operational excellence across manufacturing operations. You will lead customer and product quality initiatives, translate requirements into measurable controls, and manage PFMEA documentation.

You will collaborate across cross-functional teams, support supplier quality activities, and lead audits and continuous improvement efforts. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and CQE advantage are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field. ASQ CQE is an advantage.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing quality environments preferred.
  • Proficient in FMEA, PFMEA, CAPA and 8D methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and manage customer complaints and lead customer meetings.
  • Drive structured problem-solving through CAPA and 8D.
  • Translate customer requirements into measurable quality characteristics and controls.
  • Prepare compliance docs including CE Declarations of Conformity and related certificates.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive risk identification and preventive action.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality requirements and specs.
  • Lead and develop PFMEA documentation and quality controls for processes.
  • Coordinate incoming inspection, FAI, IPQC and FQC activities.
  • Manage non-conforming materials and containment/resolution.
  • Lead audits and maintain quality systems, calibration and governance.

Job description

As our Quality Engineer, your mission is to strengthen and refine our already high-performing quality systems, driving the next level of operational excellence and deepening our customer-focused culture across manufacturing operations.

Your responsibility

Customer & Product Quality Leadership

  • Handle and manage customer complaints, lead customer meetings, and oversee product-related requests
  • Drive structured problem-solving through CAPA and 8D methodologies
  • Translate customer requirements into measurable quality characteristics and process controls
  • Prepare compliance documentation including CE Declarations of Conformity and related certificates (RoHS II, CE EMC)
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive risk identification and preventive action

Cross-Functional & Assembly Quality Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the assembly environment to define critical characteristics, quality requirements, and product specifications
  • Establish appropriate quality systems and controls for new or modified processes
  • Support smooth product and engineering changes by ensuring quality impact assessment and follow-up

Operational Quality Control & Supplier Support

  • Support supplier quality activities including incoming inspection (visual and functional)
  • Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) and develop comprehensive FAI reports
  • Support In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) and Final Quality Control (FQC) activities
  • Manage non-conforming materials (NCMR), coordinate rework activities, and ensure proper containment and resolution

Preventive Quality & Risk Management

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve PFMEA documentation
  • Provide training and guidance in root cause analysis, customer requirement understanding, and quality fundamentals
  • Drive data-based improvements through structured reporting and statistical analysisLead corrective and preventive actions from internal and external audits

Systems, Compliance & Governance

  • Implement, introduce, and maintain quality systems, procedures, standards, and technical instructions
  • Ensure effective communication of quality standards across departments
  • Maintain calibration systems for registered measuring equipment
  • Represent Quality in internal and external audits (Customers, ISO, UL, regulatory bodies)

ESD & Manufacturing Discipline

  • Lead and sustain the ESD program, including floor implementation, measurement, monitoring, documentation, and training
  • Maintain strong quality culture and discipline within the production environment
Who are you?

You are passionate about quality and driven by operational excellence. You bring solid knowledge of the field of electronics and core quality tools such as FMEA, PFMEA, CAPA, and 8D, and you understand how to translate structured methodologies into meaningful impact within a manufacturing environment. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related technical field (ASQ CQE or equivalent certification is an advantage). You are confident handling complex quality challenges, supporting customer interactions, and collaborating across cross-functional teams.

  • High sense of responsibility and ownership: You take full accountability for product and process quality and act with integrity and discipline.
