Job description

Project Quality Manager | Day shift | Bachelor’s degree | Almere

Imagine joining a project where quality does not yet exist—because you will be the one building it. As Project Quality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the Quality Management System, food safety standards, and compliance framework for a brand-new manufacturing facility from the ground up.

At Akkodis, we connect engineering and life sciences professionals with projects that shape the future. For one of our international clients in the health and nutrition industry, we are looking for an experienced Project Quality Manager to support the development and successful start-up of a new greenfield manufacturing site in Almere, the Netherlands.

About Our Client

Our client is a leading international manufacturer within the health and nutrition sector. Known for its commitment to quality, innovation and operational excellence, the company is investing in a brand-new manufacturing facility in the Netherlands. This greenfield project offers a unique opportunity to help establish a world‑class production environment that will set new standards in manufacturing excellence.

As Project Quality Manager, you will report to the Operational Start‑Up Leader while maintaining a strong functional connection with the global Quality organization. This is a unique opportunity to define and implement the complete Quality strategy for a new production facility. From developing the Quality Management System to ensuring audit readiness, food safety, and regulatory compliance, you will lay the foundation for a culture where quality is embedded in every process from day one. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Validation, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs and external partners to ensure the facility is fully prepared for successful production start‑up.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System;
  • Establish quality processes in line with FSSC 22000, ISO standards, HACCP, GMP/cGMP, and Food Safety Management System requirements;
  • Develop and implement food safety programs including allergen management, sanitation, hygiene, pest control, and food defence;
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements;
  • Build and maintain audit readiness for internal, customer, certification, and regulatory audits;
  • Lead interactions with regulatory authorities and certification bodies;
  • Define quality KPIs and monitor performance through data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Drive deviation management, root cause analysis, CAPA and change control processes;
  • Support laboratory setup, microbiological monitoring, sensory evaluation, and shelf‑life management;
  • Ensure SAP quality processes are implemented in line with compliance requirements;
  • Promote a strong quality culture across all project teams;
  • Support the successful commissioning and operational readiness of the new manufacturing facility.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Dairy Science, or another relevant scientific discipline;
  • At least 5–10 years of experience in Quality Management within manufacturing environments;
  • Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or highly regulated industries;
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP/cGMP, FSSC 22000, ISO standards and Food Safety Management Systems;
  • Proven experience managing Quality Management Systems, deviations, CAPA, change control and audit programs;
  • Experience supporting greenfield projects, start‑up activities or major facility expansions is highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including FDA and international food safety regulations is an advantage;
  • Experience working with SAP is considered a plus;
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills;
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capabilities;
  • Ability to influence multidisciplinary teams in a project environment;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Why This Opportunity?

Greenfield projects are rare. This role offers the opportunity to build an entire quality organization from scratch rather than maintaining existing systems. You will define processes, implement best practices, and create the quality culture that will support a world‑class manufacturing facility for years to come. If you are passionate about quality, food safety and building sustainable manufacturing excellence, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What Akkodis Offers
  • A direct employment contract with our client from day one;
  • A unique opportunity to contribute to a greenfield manufacturing project;
  • A challenging international project with significant ownership and responsibility;
  • A competitive salary and attractive employment conditions;
  • Access to Akkodis' international engineering and life sciences network;
