Job summary

Samyang Foods Europe in Amstelveen is seeking a Quality Assurance Associate to ensure EU and country-specific food regulations, packaging and labelling standards, and to help build a robust QA function for the product range.

The role involves collaborating with the QA team lead, maintaining QMS across markets, and coordinating with our head office in South Korea. Fluent English is required; knowledge of Korean is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Packaging & Labelling regulations knowledge/experience.
• Up to 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the food/FMCG industry.
• Extensive knowledge of European food regulations and standards, including country-specific requirements.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are an asset. Professional level in Korean is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory compliance execution across EU and country laws.
• Manage quality processes by monitoring test reports, certificates and quality documents.
• Act as primary contact for wholesalers, retailers, and consumers regarding product quality inquiries and regulatory questions.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for quality assurance activities and report to senior management.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance Execution

• Monitor compliance with all relevant European Union and country-specific food safety regulations and suggest internal updates, including compliance for all packaging and labelling processes.
• Execute quality management systems (QMS) to maintain compliance across all markets.
• Keep updated on emerging food safety regulations and industry best practices, translating them into actionable compliance strategies for Samyang Foods Europe.
• Regular and transparent communication with our production and head office based in South Korea.

2. Quality Assurance Management

• Manage quality processes by monitoring test reports, certificates and necessary quality documents.
• Maintain necessary quality management systems to enhance overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.

3. Stakeholder Communication and Issue Resolution

• Act as the primary contact for wholesalers, retailers, and consumers regarding product quality inquiries, regulatory questions, and complaints.
• Provide timely responses to customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring that all communication reflects Samyang’s commitment to quality and compliance.

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare and maintain thorough documentation for all quality assurance activities, including compliance records, and corrective actions.
• Report regularly to senior management on quality metrics, regulatory updates, and areas for improvement.
