Job summary

Koole BV in the Netherlands seeks a QHSE Officer to support the maritime department with quality, health, safety and environmental matters. You will manage certifications, coordinate audits, and continually improve the QHSE management system.

You will work from Vijfhuizen with occasional visits to vessels and project sites, translating standards into clear procedures for colleagues. Dutch and English are required, seagoing experience is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

• Affinity with the maritime sector and day-to-day operations on board.
• Seagoing experience or maritime/technical education is advantageous.
• Experience in QHSE, certifications, audits or document control (or willingness to develop).
• Documentation should be complete, up-to-date and easy to retrieve.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical solutions for colleagues.
• Fluent Dutch and English (spoken and written).
• Additional knowledge of quality management or occupational safety is a plus.
• Familiarity with Marad software is an advantage.

• Manage and monitor company, vessel and project certifications, including validity and renewals.
• Prepare, plan and coordinate internal and external audits and inspections.
• Record and follow up on audit findings, non-conformities and improvements.
• Maintai n and improve the QHSE management system, procedures and records.
• Liaise with certification bodies, inspection bodies and other parties.
• Support colleagues with QHSE matters and implement procedures.
• Assist with risk assessments, incident investigations and project documentation.
• Identify changes to standards/regulations and integrate into operations.

Koole is a dynamic company consisting of two divisions with different specialism and worldwide projects in the Industrial and Maritime sector, including the complete demolition/dismantling of plants, installations, salvage and dismantling of maritime vessels and objects. About the role

Are you familiar with the maritime industry and do you have an eye for quality, safety and structure? Do you have seagoing experience or a technical background, and would you like to apply your practical knowledge in QHSE? Then we would like to hear from you.

As a QHSE Officer, you will support our maritime department in quality, health, safety and environmental matters. Your main focus will be managing certifications, preparing for and coordinating audits, and maintaining and improving our management system.

You will work with colleagues in the office, on board our vessels and at our project sites. You will translate requirements from standards, clients and applicable legislation into clear procedures and practical working arrangements. You will be based in Vijfhuizen, with occasional visits to vessels and project sites.

What you bring

• An affinity with the maritime sector and an understanding of day-to-day operations on board.
• Seagoing experience or a maritime or technical educational background is a strong advantage.
• Experience in QHSE, certifications, audits or document control, or a willingness to develop your expertise in these areas.
• A thorough approach to your work, ensuring documentation is complete, up to date and easy to retrieve.
• The ability to translate requirements and procedures into practical solutions for colleagues.
• A good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• A relevant qualification or additional knowledge of quality management or occupational safety is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Marad software is an advantage.
