Job summary

Fairphone is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to elevate quality across our web teams. You will shift quality left and automate pre-deploy gates using Playwright with Python, guiding developers to own unit and integration tests in a fast-moving e-commerce environment.

Reporting to the Lead Developer, you’ll integrate with GitHub Actions, define rigorous acceptance criteria, and balance automated tests with structured manual test plans for major releases. Hybrid work in the Netherlands is offered.

Responsibilities

• Automation Architecture & Ownership: Plan, build, and maintain end-to-end test automation suites using Playwright with Python.
• CI/CD Quality Gates: Integrate automated testing into GitHub Actions to create automated pre-deployment quality gates and run weekly automated bug-detection scripts.
• Refinement & Critical Analysis: Define rigorous acceptance criteria with Product Owners and UX Designers during Jira refinements.
• Release & Bug Governance: Establish bug severity rules and govern go/no-go release decisions.
• Manual Release Planning: Design and execute structured manual test plans for cross-device/browser compatibility.
• Enforce Quality Standards & Developer Accountability: Set guardrails and ensure code quality before production.
• Process Advice: Improve Definition of Done and staging environment with Lead Developer and Product Owners.
