Job summary

Partner Company in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Automation QA Engineer to design, implement, and maintain end-to-end and API tests using TypeScript and Playwright. The role focuses on migrating legacy Java-based tests to a scalable Playwright framework and boosting performance testing and CI/CD integration.

You will work remotely in a collaborative environment, guiding QA practices, reviewing code, and mentoring teammates while tackling complex quality challenges and enabling high-performing

Qualifications

• Five+ years in software quality assurance, test automation, or related engineering role.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Playwright for automation frameworks.
• Experience building/evolving Playwright-based automation from the ground up.
• Knowledge of REST API testing and UI automation across UI, API, and performance layers.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern testing practices.
• Experience with load/performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, Locust; k6 is a plus).
• Ability to write clean, scalable automation code suitable for parallel execution.
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills; proactive collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end and API tests using TypeScript and Playwright.
• Lead migration of legacy Java-based tests to modern Playwright/TypeScript framework.
• Improve test automation architecture, fixtures, browser contexts, and data management.
• Develop and optimize load-testing scenarios with k6; analyze performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure test coverage across UI, API, and performance layers.
• Conduct code reviews and share knowledge to raise QA standards.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve testing workflows.
• Mentor teammates and promote clean code practices.
