Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Python Engineer to help us innovate across our fleet of unmanned systems. In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement solutions that improve the performance and reliability of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

You will work on integrating advanced technologies to enable cutting-edge applications, while managing project objectives and helping the team deliver successful outcomes. Your contributions will help enable our UAVs to autonomously perform a wide range of missions, regardless of where they are deployed.

General Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in a software development role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in software architecture and development.
• Experience with edge computing and edge devices.
• Willingness to travel to Amsterdam when required and to participate effectively in a collaborative office environment.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.

Technical Expertise

• Extensive experience with Python and knowledge of additional programming languages, preferably C/C++.
• Strong background in computer vision models and their practical applications.
• Expertise in statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.
• Proficiency in API design, event-driven architectures, and integration patterns.
• Strong knowledge of and practical experience with Git for version control and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)

• Hands-on experience with ArduPilot and the MAVLink protocol.
• Familiarity with 3D printing and/or soldering.
• Strong command of Dutch, both written and spoken.
• Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• A strong understanding of aerodynamic principles.
