Job summary

The Town of Fogo Island is seeking dedicated Heavy Equipment Operators/Maintenance Workers through Jump Recruitment. Join a team delivering public works and water/sewer services in all weather conditions, including snow clearing and emergency repairs.

Positions include permanent full-time and seasonal roles. Candidates should have valid Class 3/8/9 licenses, with Water Operator Level I and OH&S knowledge as assets, and a background in mechanics optional.

Qualifications

• Valid driver licenses (Class 3, 8 and 9) are required.
• Water Operator Level I is an asset.
• Knowledge of OH&S regulations is an asset.
• Good written and oral communication skills with the public.
• Background in mechanics is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe snow clearing and ice control using snow removal equipment.
• Operate and maintain council equipment for services such as ditching, road maintenance, water and sewer infrastructure.
• Provide emergency roadside repairs as required.
• Operate water supply and sewer pumping systems and perform preventative maintenance on Town equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned and be available on-call after hours and weekends.
