Job summary

Accenture Netherlands offers a master's internship focused on transforming public services using AI, cybersecurity, and large-scale digital projects. You’ll work with the Health & Public Services team on public sector and healthcare projects, with a 4 to 9 month duration starting Feb or Mar.

You’ll gain hands-on experience alongside consultants, contribute to real client work, and have the option to combine the internship with your thesis under supervision.

Are you a master's student with a passion for how technology can transform government and public services?

At Accenture Netherlands, you'll discover how AI, cybersecurity, and large-scale digital transformation projects can deliver measurable value for public sector organizations. Guided by experienced consultants, you'll build practical skills that will serve you throughout your career. This internship challenges you to combine academic curiosity with an innovative mindset to create real societal impact through technology.

Your primary focus will be on the public sector, but as part of the broader Health & Public Services (HPS) team, you'll also gain exposure to healthcare projects, giving you a broad view of technology-driven transformation across both domains.

Duration: 4 to 9 months, starting in February or March.

What you'll do

As an intern, you'll work alongside consultants on real client projects, supporting public sector organizations such as ministries with national and international dependencies, government executive agencies, and institutions in the field of justice and safety. You'll help them become more innovative, agile, and future proof through the responsible application of technology.

You'll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to projects with tangible outcomes such as cost savings, more efficient and faster case handling, or optimized government processes.

What to expect

Working internship: You'll have the opportunity to shape your own experience and explore your personal interests. You'll contribute to various projects including business analyses, stakeholder and market analyses, support in developing business proposals, and research into client systems and functionalities. You are encouraged to bring your own ideas and initiatives, so you can challenge yourself and get the most out of your internship.

Thesis internship: It is also possible — in consultation with your supervisor — to combine your internship with writing your thesis. You are encouraged to choose a topic that aligns with your studies and adds value to one of our clients. You'll receive all the guidance and resources needed to complete your thesis while continuing to contribute to the HPS team.

You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team working on the future of intelligent public services, leveraging our global delivery model and strategic partnerships with ecosystem partners such as Microsoft, AWS, and Google.

What we’re looking for

• Education: Currently enrolled in a master's program at a Dutch university for the full duration of the internship. Preferred fields of study include Business Information Technology, Data Science & AI, Computer Science, Public Administration, or closely related disciplines.
• Skills: Affinity with technology, IT, and/or the public sector; you actively follow the latest technological developments.
• Mindset: Ambitious and proactive, naturally analytical, strong communicator, and a team player.
• Bonus points: Involvement in extracurricular activities — for example, student organizations, Defensity College, Society College, De Kleine Consultant, etc.
• Location: Amsterdam
• Languages: Fluent Dutch and English required
