Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Public Cloud Engineer to design, implement and monitor its Public Cloud infrastructure in Amsterdam. You will manage Linux systems, networking components and virtualization, and automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency.

This role includes on-call duties, incident support, and leading peers toward effective solutions while ensuring service availability. Collaboration with DevOps to build reliable platforms and interfaces through API and the Customer

Qualifications

• Experience with Python for automation and testing (or Golang).
• Knowledge of Linux OS, preferably Ubuntu.
• Experience with Shell/Bash is an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of virtualization technologies (KVM, QEMU, Libvirt).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Kubernetes).
• Experience with MySQL and Galera cluster.
• Switch Management (Arista/Juniper).
• Experience with monitoring platforms: Prometheus, Nagios/Icinga.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor the Public Cloud infrastructure
• Manage Public Cloud infrastructure, including Linux systems, networking components and virtualization layer
• Implement repetitive and complex tasks that benefit the team operationally
• Ensure the availability of all services that make up the Public Cloud
• Participate in regular on-call duty
• Identify and propose solutions for improvements or structural problems
• Provide 3rd line incident support
• Take the lead and persuade peers and stakeholders toward effective solutions
• Teach and challenge others within and beyond the team
• Work with DevOps engineers to build and operate Leaseweb's Public Cloud
• Build reliable platforms and interfaces providing trustworthy endpoints through the API and Customer Portal
