Job summary

Qabird is seeking a Proposal Engineer Steel to be based in Gorinchem, Netherlands. This role requires a professional with over 5 years of experience in cost estimation within a maritime/technical environment. The successful candidate will work closely with product managers and internal sales to ensure compliance with maritime regulations while providing accurate cost estimates. The position offers a dynamic working environment and a market-conform salary along with excellent benefits. Fluency in English and Dutch is required.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience with pontoons and Salesforce.
• Higher professional education or Bachelor level in technical or maritime field.

The role

We are looking for a precise Proposal Engineer Steel to support our product managers and the internal sales organization. Your role is to take the initial ideas from the client/organization, do the initial feasibility check, produce a price and a specification ready for a contract. For this you work together with different departments within C&MC and Damen to come up with the best solution for your client. Next to the sales driven requests, you will ensure that our product is standardized together with the product manager and ensure that all sales data is up to date.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Support in the development of new sales opportunities
• Ensure compliancy of the products with maritime law and regulations
• Delivery accurate cost prices for our products
• Assist in managing the product portfolio

Education / Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience of cost estimation a the maritime/technical environment
• Preferred: experience with pontoons, salesforce, proposals
• Affinity with concept design and software such as Autocad/Rhino/Solidworks
• Higher professional education or Bachelor in technical or maritime thinking level
• Good command of the English and Dutch language (written & verbal)
