The Opportunity

We are looking for you as Project Planner / Project Controls Specialist for our team in Rotterdam, Holland for the handling, controlling and monitoring of customer‑specific large‑scale projects.

How you’ll make an impact

• Define responsibilities and distribute tasks within the team with regards to scheduling, taking customer specifications and Hitachi Energy policies into account.
• Develop, regularly update and analyse project schedules.
• Prepare tender and project time schedules.
• Collaborate and jointly create and update schedules with project planners from other Hitachi Energy units in other European countries.
• Maintain close cooperation and coordination with internal and external stakeholders in your role as a central contact person for project planning and progress control.
• Request schedule inputs and updates from internal and external project team members, suppliers, including visits to project sites.
• Actively monitor and control project progress, taking Hitachi Energy policies and best practices into account to ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with contract.
• Ensure that all projects are implemented and completed in accordance with health, safety and environmental guidelines.

Your background

• Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable (Bachelor / Master / Dipl.).
• Relevant professional experience in project management, project execution and especially in the area of scheduling / project controls (scheduling, resource planning, cost control).
• Extensive knowledge of the project planning and scheduling tools Primavera and MS Project.
• Knowledge of MS Office including SharePoint.
• Certification as PMI‑SP or other scheduling related training would be an advantage.
• Very good communication skills, strong customer orientation as well as structured working methods and ability to work in a team.
• English and Dutch fluent in spoken and written.
• Driving licence category B.
