Project Manager Infra Development
Help deliver projects that truly elevate our logistics capabilities
By ensuring that bol's logistics infrastructure keeps pace with our ambitions. As Project Manager Infra Development, you lead complex projects that expand, automate, or improve our fulfilment network. You translate business objectives into a controlled delivery approach, bring together internal teams and external suppliers, and ensure the intended capability is delivered safely, within scope, planning, and budget, and ready for operational use.
This role is part of the Project Management Job Family. Explore this Job Family to learn more about the purpose, key accountabilities and competencies.
Creating control and alignment in high-impact projects where physical infrastructure, IT, automation, operations, suppliers, and organisational change come together. Requirements evolve, stakeholder interests compete, and implementation often takes place in a live logistics environment. You keep the integral overview, make timely trade-offs, and direct the project team while leaving technical execution with the accountable experts.
You'll join the Infrastructure Development team, which delivers a broad portfolio of capital-intensive logistics projects. Your first assignment is expected to involve the implementation of robotics in an existing warehouse environment. While this provides the immediate project context, the position is designed for deployment across a broad portfolio of logistics infrastructure projects. You lead large cross-functional projects independently or take ownership of a major stream within a strategic programme, typically involving investments exceeding EUR 10 million and dependencies across operations, IT, automation, engineering, suppliers, and business teams.
You have a proven track record of successfully leading complex cross-functional projects with significant investment levels, multidisciplinary teams, major suppliers, and substantial organisational impact. You combine strong control of scope, planning, budget, risks, requirements, and changes with the ability to direct stakeholders across physical infrastructure, IT, automation, operations, engineering, and business teams. You can lead projects independently and operate effectively within the direction and governance of a larger programme when required. You understand adjacent technical and business disciplines well enough to challenge assumptions and oversee the impact of decisions without becoming the technical owner. Experience in logistics, automation, industrial, engineering, infrastructure, or similarly complex operational environments is highly valuable, as is experience with brownfield operations, safety, permits, compliance, testing, and operational readiness. Fluency in English is expected; Dutch is desirable.
Integral project leader
You connect requirements, controls, teams, suppliers, and operational readiness into one accountable delivery approach.
Pragmatic decision-maker
You create clarity in ambiguity, make timely trade-offs, and intervene when delivery moves off track.
Cross-functional leader
You align physical infrastructure, IT, automation, operations, engineering, and business stakeholders around one outcome.
Technical specialist first
You prefer owning one discipline or solution rather than integrating the full project and its outcome.
Status reporter
You focus on reporting progress rather than directing work, managing controls, and driving corrective action.
Process avoider
You see governance, safety, permits, or compliance as overhead instead of conditions for successful delivery.
You'll join the Infrastructure Development team within bol's logistics organisation. We deliver the projects that keep our fulfilment network scalable, efficient, safe, compliant, and future-ready. The environment is collaborative and hands-on: we bring different perspectives together, share knowledge openly, and hold each other and our partners accountable for results.
