Job summary

DTN, Utrecht-based, seeks a Project Engineer to lead technical project execution across the full lifecycle—from design through customer acceptance. You will engage with external and internal stakeholders and drive outcomes that enhance customer delight and revenue growth.

A hybrid work model and international travel are expected. Ideal candidates have a degree in engineering, strong communication skills, and familiarity with project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications, Computer, Electronic, Industrial Engineering, or similar.
• Familiarity with engineering project lifecycles.
• Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
• Availability to travel internationally.

We are seeking a Project Engineer based in our Utrecht office. In this role, as a valued team member, you will play a crucial role in driving the overall success of Global Operations. You will interact with external and internal stakeholders, and work with the Global Operations team to achieve the desired business outcomes with a focus on enhancing customer delight and supporting revenue growth. From contract award until the successful completion of the solution to our valued customer, you will meticulously manage each step of the process, ensuring all requirements are met and delivering a final result that exceeds expectations.

Role Overview

The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical execution of projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial design and engineering through system integration, testing, commissioning, and final customer acceptance. The role combines hands‑on technical expertise with cross‑functional coordination, covering system design, technical documentation, factory and on‑site engineering services, customer support, and the coordination of internal technical teams. The Project Engineer ensures that technical solutions are delivered to the required standards, within project scope and schedule, while supporting successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.

What you will be responsible for:

What you will bring to the position

• Degree in Telecommunications, Computer, Electronic, Industrial Engineering, or similar.
• Familiarity with engineering project lifecycles.
• Fluent English (Spanish is a plus).
• Strong technical communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to prepare clear technical documentation.
• Availability to travel internationally.

Desirable knowledge

• Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:
• IP networking and basic network troubleshooting.
• Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
• System integration and communication protocols.
• Electrical power distribution and cabinet/rack integration.
• Virtualization technologies.
• Basic cybersecurity concepts.

Compensation:

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between €35,000- €46,000 annually. DTN is a pay-for-performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
