Job summary

We Are Reasonable People in Rotterdam is seeking an AI backend engineer to join two-person senior teams working on data-heavy digital products. You will own backend work, data pipelines and REST integrations, connecting AI prototypes to production systems while keeping speed and reliability in full view.

Qualifications

• At least one year of hands-on experience in a comparable AI or automation role.
• Strong programming skills and practical experience with LLMs, backend development and REST integrations.
• Comfortable working in complex, data-heavy environments.
• A completed university master's degree.
• Excellent spoken and written Dutch — this is a hard requirement.

Responsibilities

• Own backend work, data pipelines and integrations.
• Build and improve AI solutions connected to production systems via REST APIs.
• Explain technical choices clearly to non-technical stakeholders and document limits.
