Job description

Note: This vacancy is only for candidates who have mastered the Dutch language (native speaker level).

This vacancy in a few words?

At Wolfpack we are looking for an enthusiastic Product Owner who would like to build great solutions with high social impact. You will create top-notch software for multiple clients in Healthcare, Education & High-Tech. Together with UX Designers and Tech Leads, you maximize value delivered to our customers by understanding their challenges and coming up with smart and elegant solutions. You collaborate with an in-house development team, who will make sure to deliver & maintain the solution we can be proud of. In short, it’s a challenging role with a lot of impact.

Sounds interesting? Here is a complete job description:

At Wolfpack we work in Packs to design, develop and implement custom software for our clients. We focus on three core areas: Healthcare, Education & High-Tech. Essentially, our Packs are multidisciplinary Scrum teams. We believe that the best applications are built by combining different skill sets. Each Pack has their own area of expertise, based on the tech stack and domain knowledge.

As our new PO, you will be part of Team Products, which consists of the Head of Products, other POs and UX Designers. Together you form product strategy for the company, define processes and come up with the best ways to serve our customers. You will run several projects.

You are in charge of stakeholder management: you build up and maintain relationships with the customer. You perform product discovery together with a UX Designer and a Tech Lead (and, in the discovery trajectory for prospects, together with a Business Consultant). Therefore, you set up projects, create and prioritize Product Backlog(s)—all in favor of delivering value on time and within budget.

Here is what your future colleague Gerben has to say about his role:

“What I love most about being a Product Owner at Wolfpack is the real impact you get to make for clients. You're involved from the very first conversation with the client, helping define challenges and scope the project. No two days are the same, one moment you’re learning and exploring about a new product, the next you’re supporting the team in delivering something great.”

“What makes Wolfpack truly unique is the lack of top-down hierarchy. As a PO, you have full ownership of your product, from initiation to delivery. You create the plan, and you’re responsible for making sure we build something both the team and the client can be proud of. That level of responsibility makes your work impactful and incredibly rewarding.”

Gerben, Product Owner

But wait… what does that mean, day to day?

Customer-oriented:

  • Together with a Business Consultant, Tech Lead and UX Designer, you work on the Discovery trajectory for our prospects.
  • You are a trusted partner for our customers: you listen to their needs and come up with smart and elegant solutions. Moreover, you are always looking for additional opportunities to improve their products and deliver more value.
  • You are responsible for creating and managing a clear Product Backlog and Product Roadmap for your projects. You create User Stories and collaborate with the development team during the implementation process.
  • You are a main point of contact for the customers in terms of defining the scope, the timeline and the budget of the projects.

Team-oriented:

  • Together with the other POs and the Head of Products, you build a strong product strategy and support each other.
  • You empower the development team to deliver the software they can be proud of by explaining “the Why’s” of the customers, creating Product Goals and coming up with clear requirements of the “What”. You are always open to their suggestions and ready to answer their questions.
  • Tech Lead and UX Designers are your “best friends” — you act as a Product Trio and make sure that the Product Backlogs of your products are in top shape.
