Job summary

Fokker Services Group invites a Product Engineer – Mechanical Systems at Schiphol to drive the development of pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical capabilities for maintenance activities. You will lead lean improvements, support new business opportunities, and ensure reliability and performance of the Pneumatics & Hydraulics shop’s portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical capabilities and repair technologies.
  • Execute continuous improvement on capability portfolio using lean principles.
  • Support new business requests to optimize or expand Mechanical capabilities.
  • Assist Pneumatic & Hydraulics shop to improve reliability of products.
  • Initiate cost-saving activities to improve financial performance.
  • Analyze technical data and set up measurements to improve business intelligence.
  • Maintain existing capability portfolio from a technical perspective.

The role of Product Engineer – Mechanical Systems is pivotal for the Component Maintenance activities within Fokker Services.

How you keep the engine running with us
  • Responsible for development of new Pneumatic, Hydraulic & Mechanical capabilities and repair technologies
  • Responsible for execution of continuous improvement on the existing capability portfolio by means of lean principles
  • Support potential new business requests from the Product Owner in order to optimize or expand the scope of Mechanical capabilities
  • Support Pneumatic & Hydraulics shop in continuously improving the reliability of the relevant products
  • Responsible for initiating and identifying cost saving activities to enhance the financial performance of the Pneumatics & Hydraulics shop
  • Supports Product Owner by means of technical data analysis on performed work and set-up of technical measurements to improve business intelligence on a product level
  • Responsible for maintaining the existing capability portfolio from a technical perspective

  • A demonstrated ability to identify improvements, applying lean principles and driving continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated commercial savviness and understanding of operational excellence
  • Demonstrated ability in solving complex problems and showing a can-do attitude
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and data analysis skills
  • A demonstrated proficiency in relevant software skills: MS Excel and Access

Desirable:

  • BSc degree, or equivalent, in an (Electrical) Engineering discipline
  • Experience in Python, C++ or other programming languages
