Job summary

AmbaFlex is seeking a Product Engineer II to translate R&D concepts into production‑ready designs, bridging concept and industrialization while ensuring safety, reliability and manufacturability. You will own detailed engineering, create 3D models and drawings in Inventor, manage BOMs, support prototypes and guide junior engineers, collaborating with R&D, procurement and operations.

• Around 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in mechanical/product engineering or machine building.
• Experience taking concepts through detailed engineering and industrialization.
• 3D CAD experience; Autodesk Inventor and Vault knowledge preferred.
• Good command of English and Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Translate R&D concepts into detailed, production-ready designs
• Develop and optimize designs with safety, reliability, manufacturability, maintainability and cost in mind
• Evaluate technical feasibility and make informed engineering decisions
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, CE and engineering standards
• Create, revise and release 3D models and technical drawings using Inventor and Vault
• Create and maintain complete Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Manage design revisions and technical documentation
• Provide technical support during prototype and 0-series production
• Perform final engineering checks and ensure compliance with AmbaFlex standards

Product Engineer II

At AmbaFlex, innovation doesn't stop at a great idea. Before a new solution reaches our customers, it needs to be engineered into a product that is safe, reliable, manufacturable and maintainable.

As Product Engineer II, you take concepts and innovations from R&D and turn them into detailed, production-ready designs. You bridge the gap between concept and industrialization and make sure our solutions work not only on paper, but also in production and in the field.

The role

You take ownership of the detailed engineering and industrialization of new and existing products. You consider the complete picture: machine safety, reliability, maintainability, manufacturability and cost.

Working closely with R&D, Project Management, Technical Writers, Procurement, other engineering disciplines and suppliers, you develop solutions from concept through detailed design to the first production series.

With your experience, you also support and guide less experienced engineers and help maintain a high technical standard within the team.

You're comfortable challenging technical decisions, solving complex engineering problems and sharing your knowledge with others.

Your background

• HBO-level education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable technical field, or an equivalent level gained through experience
• Around 8+ years of relevant engineering experience. Although for us, the quality and relevance of your experience matter more than the exact number of years
• Strong experience within mechanical engineering, product engineering or machine building
• Experience taking concepts through detailed engineering and industrialization
• Experience with 3D CAD; knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Vault is strongly preferred
• Good understanding of technical drawings, BOM structures and engineering revisions
• Knowledge of machine safety, CE requirements and engineering standards
• Good command of English and Dutch
