Job summary

Picnic, headquartered in Amsterdam, is seeking a Product Designer for its Consumer team to shape features in Europe’s fastest-growing grocery app. You’ll own end-to-end design for our core mobile app, collaborating with engineers, researchers, and product owners to deliver high-impact, scalable experiences across NL, DE and FR.

You’ll join a creative community that values user-centered design, rapid prototyping, and active contribution to the design system.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant design field (e.g. CMD, UX, Interaction or Product Design).
• 3–6 years of experience as a Product Designer in a fast-paced digital environment.
• Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product thinking, solving real problems for real people at scale.
• Fluency in English.
• Availability to work on-site full time.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design: From insight to shipped feature with customer focus at every stage.
• Sharpen the brief by collaborating with product owners and UX researchers to ground decisions in customer needs.
• Build and test fast: create low and high fidelity prototypes evaluated with real customers weekly.

As a Product Designer in our Consumer team, you'll take full ownership of features on our core mobile app, shaping how millions of people in the Netherlands, Germany and France shop. You'll work in a dedicated product team alongside engineers, researchers and product owners, and be part of our wider UX Guild, a creative community that holds the standard for experience quality across Picnic.

Grocery shopping is personal, frequent and essential. Designing for it is a rare challenge: high-impact, deeply human, and never truly finished. At Picnic, your work won't just be seen. It will be part of how people feed their families.

Tricks of the trade

• Own end-to-end design: From the first insight to a shipped feature, you take full responsibility for the quality of what gets built, thinking holistically and from a customer perspective at every stage.
• Sharpen the brief: Collaborate with product owners and UX researchers to turn fuzzy problems into sharp design directions, using exploratory research to ground every decision in what actually matters to our customers.
• Build and test fast: Create low and high fidelity prototypes to be evaluated with real customers on a weekly basis, staying in a continuous loop of hypothesis, test and learn.
• Deliver with precision: Document the final interaction and UI design requirements to brief and support developers during implementation, and stay close to make sure the experience lands as intended.
• Raise the craft: Contribute actively to Picnic's design system and shared libraries, and continuously explore new ideas, because at Picnic, design is never done ;).

Your superpowers

• Degree in a relevant design field (e.g. CMD, UX, Interaction or Product Design)
• 3–6 years of experience as a Product Designer in a fast-paced digital environment
• Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product thinking, solving real problems for real people at scale
• Fluency in Figma and rapid prototyping
• A low-ego, collaborative approach to building solutions
• Comfort with ambiguity; able to ask the right questions, form a point of view, and drive toward a direction independently
• Curiosity about AI; both as a tool in your design process and as a feature shaping the products we build
• Strong communication skills; able to present work, explain decisions and engage stakeholders at all levels
• Fluency in English
• Availability to work on-site full time
