Job summary

NRG PALLAS is seeking a Process Equipment Engineer to lead GMP‑compliant equipment delivery in radiopharmaceutical production. You will oversee the full equipment lifecycle from concept to qualification and optimization.

You will collaborate with Process Development, Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and external suppliers to ensure safe, reliable operations and adherence to GMP standards in Petten, Netherlands.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, Process Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the specification, design, procurement, implementation, qualification, and optimization of process equipment.
  • Translate process, scientific, operational, and business requirements into GMP‑compliant equipment solutions.
  • Develop URS for new and modified equipment.
  • Support supplier selection, procurement activities, and supplier relationship management.
  • Coordinate FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
  • Manage equipment‑related changes through the MoC process.
  • Ensure GMP compliance and radiological safety regulations.
  • Act as SME for troubleshooting and continuous improvement of equipment performance.

At NRG PALLAS, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the next generation of radiopharmaceutical production facilities. Working at the forefront of nuclear medicine innovation, you will help create the equipment and manufacturing infrastructure needed to support life‑saving diagnostics and therapies for patients worldwide.

Your Role

As a Process Equipment Engineer, you are the technical lead responsible for the successful delivery of both standard and custom‑designed process equipment used in the production of radiopharmaceuticals. You will oversee the complete equipment lifecycle, from concept and specification through procurement, qualification, operation, and continuous improvement.

You will work in a unique high‑tech environment where nuclear technology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and GMP compliance come together. Collaboration is key, as you will partner closely with colleagues from Process Development, Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and external suppliers to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the specification, design, procurement, implementation, qualification, and optimization of process equipment.
  • Translate process, scientific, operational, and business requirements into robust and GMP‑compliant equipment solutions.
  • Develop URS for new and modified equipment.
  • Support supplier selection, procurement activities, and supplier relationship management.
  • Coordinate FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
  • Manage equipment‑related changes through the MoC process.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, engineering standards, and radiological safety regulations.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for troubleshooting and continuous improvement of equipment performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
What You Bring

You combine strong technical expertise with a structured and solution‑oriented approach. You are comfortable coordinating multiple stakeholders and enjoy working in a dynamic environment where innovation and compliance go hand in hand.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, Process Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a GMP‑regulated production environment.
  • Proven experience specifying, procuring, and implementing both standard and custom‑engineered process equipment.
  • Experience with GMP commissioning and qualification activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
  • Solid understanding of GMP requirements and engineering lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English. Dutch language skills are an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within radiopharmaceutical or nuclear production environments is highly valued, including exposure to:

Radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities

  • Hot cells and shielding systems
  • Isolator technology
  • Radioactive materials handling and processing
