Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Process Engineer for our newest Contract Logistics branch in Tiel. You will design, develop, and optimize automated warehouse solutions, collaborating with Senior Operations Manager to ensure reliable performance.

You will work with WMS/WCS systems, coordinate with integrators and IT teams, and lead continuous improvement projects while training key users to maintain proficiency.

Qualifications

• Engineering experience in production/warehousing/engineering, preferably automated environments.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Broad knowledge of IT topics and ability to understand a complex technical setup.
• Team player who can lead project meetings and communicate clearly.

How you create impact

The Process Engineer plays a key role in steering the daily operations within an automated environment. They will closely cooperate with Senior Operations Manager and will be responsible for the design, development and operational success of the automated portfolio within this branch.

• Ensuring smooth and efficient automation processes with correct WMS/WCS setup; working closely with the integrators, their support departments and our soft/hardware specialists.
• Work proactively with customer to anticipate on business changes (new SKUs, seasonally, …) and balancing loads in order to support the performance of the automated solution and help maintain the operational cadence.
• Translating operational needs (driven by KPIs) towards the suppliers and other relevant internal stakeholders (e.g. Facility, QSHE, IS team, Continuous improvement team, …)
• Developing automated solutions together with internal/external teams of experts in order to meet all the future engineering demands related to business changes and growth.
• In close cooperation with Solutions Engineers, you will be executing changes, Continues improvement projects, and govern layouts and flows of the automated segments of the warehouse with the aim to deliver the best suited end-to-end logistics solution.
• Training key users, maintaining their WMS/WCS proficiency and troubleshooting capabilities

What we would like you to bring

• You have relevant engineering experience within production/warehousing/engineering preferably in an automated environment.Strong analytical and (creative) problem-solving skills.
• You have a broad knowledge on different information technology topics and are able to understand, control and influence all ins and outs of a complex technical setup.
• You are a true team player with effective interpersonal skills who is able to take the lead in project meetings.
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and stepping out of your comfort zone while acquiring new skills.
• You can communicate fluently in English, Dutch is preferrable, French would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Swisslog and BlueYonder is a plus.
