Job description

Are you fascinated by physics and eager to see your scientific insights come to life in real technology? Do you enjoy combining experiments, data analysis and physical modelling? As a Print Process Developer, you will work on the physics behind the next generation of inkjet printing technology.

What will you do?

You will investigate how ink, printheads, media, drying and other parts of the printing process interact, and use that understanding to improve print quality and develop new applications. In this hands-on R&D role, you combine experiments, data analysis and physical modelling to turn scientific insights into technology that works in a real printing system.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Investigating printing physics through experiments, measurements, data analysis and modelling.
  • Developing print processes across inks, printheads, media, drying, fixation and image processing.
  • Translating print-quality issues and application needs into physical questions and technical requirements.
  • Designing experiments on laboratory setups and printing systems, and validating physical models.
  • Collaborating across disciplines to understand interactions and trade-offs in the complete print process.
  • Turning scientific insights into robust solutions for future printing products and applications.
What do we expect from you?

You are a team player with a strong understanding of physics and a hands-on, experimental mindset. You are curious, analytical and enjoy getting to the bottom of how physical processes really work, and you can explain your findings clearly to others.

In addition, you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of physics and the curiosity to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
  • A hands-on experimental mindset and confidence working with measurement equipment.
  • The ability to describe physical behaviour using models, calculations and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to testing hypotheses.
  • An interest in translating scientific understanding into reliable product technology.
  • The ability to collaborate across technical disciplines and communicate results clearly.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
