Job summary

Abbott in Zwolle, Netherlands, is hiring a Packaging Project Manager to own strategically important packaging initiatives. You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope and budget, upholding quality and operational excellence.

The role requires a engineering/packaging background with strong PM skills and experience managing complex packaging projects. Fluent English is essential; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering or related field.
• Experience managing complex packaging or engineering projects in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Fluent English; Dutch language skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full project lifecycle from planning through implementation and post-project evaluation.
• Develop plans, timelines, budgets, forecasts and resource estimates.
• Monitor progress against objectives and milestones.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions to ensure delivery.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders across engineering, operations and other teams.
• Secure and manage resources, equipment, materials, and external partners.
• Oversee contractors and suppliers to ensure quality and service.
• Lead project meetings and communicate status, risks and achievements clearly.
• Set priorities and guide team members to deliver results.
• Drive continuous improvement with post-implementation reviews.

Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for packaging, engineering, and delivering complex projects? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can lead cross-functional teams and drive business-critical initiatives from concept to implementation?

We are looking for a Packaging Project Manager to join our ANSC team in Zwolle. In this role, you will take ownership of strategically important packaging projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

As a Packaging Project Manager, you will lead complex packaging-related projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to achieve key business objectives.

Key responsibilities include :

• Managing the full project lifecycle from planning through implementation and post-project evaluation.


• Developing project plans, timelines, budgets, forecasts, and resource requirements.


• Monitoring project progress and performance against agreed objectives and milestones.


• Identifying risks, resolving challenges, and implementing corrective actions to ensure successful project delivery.


• Coordinating internal stakeholders across engineering, technical, operations, and other functional teams.


• Securing and managing project resources, including equipment, materials, and external partners.


• Selecting and overseeing contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, compliance, and service excellence.


• Leading project meetings and providing clear communication on project status, risks, and achievements.


• Setting priorities, allocating tasks, and guiding project team members to deliver results.


• Driving continuous improvement by conducting post-implementation reviews and capturing lessons learned.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a project management professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred qualifications include :

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.


• Significant experience managing complex packaging or engineering projects within a manufacturing or industrial environment.


• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, planning tools, budgeting, and forecasting.


• Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels.


• Proven ability to manage external suppliers and contractors.


• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results.


• Fluent English communication skills; Dutch language skills are advantageous.
