Job summary

Outpost24 is seeking a Principal Cyber Security Advisor to join our team in Amsterdam, Leuven or Karlskrona. You will lead senior advisory engagements, communicate cyber risk to executive stakeholders, and shape security strategy to strengthen clients’ security postures while delivering tangible business outcomes.

The role requires 5+ years in cybersecurity advisory or related customer-facing roles, with expertise across vulnerability management, cloud security, and security programme maturity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, ideally in security advisory, consulting, managed services, or customer-facing technical roles.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains (Vulnerability Management, Application Security, Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, EASM).
• Experience advising customers on security strategy, risk management, and security programme maturity.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior escalation point and trusted advisor for strategic accounts.
• Lead end-to-end advisory engagements with executive stakeholders to shape security strategy.
• Provide guidance on risk remediation, programme maturity, prioritisation and regulatory alignment.
• Translate technical findings into actionable insights in executive business reviews with cross-functional teams.

• Contribute to advisory practice growth through solution design and SOWs.

What will your key responsibilities be?

• Serve as the senior escalation point and trusted advisor for our most strategic and complex customer accounts.
• Lead end-to-end advisory engagements, partnering with executive stakeholders to communicate cyber risk, shape security strategy, and drive meaningful security outcomes.
• Provide expert guidance on risk remediation, security programme maturity, prioritisation, and alignment with industry and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate Executive Business Reviews, translating technical findings into clear, actionable insights alongside technical, service delivery, and customer success teams.
• Navigate complex stakeholder environments, resolve cross-functional challenges, and confidently communicate difficult findings and recommendations at executive level.
• Contribute to the growth of the advisory practice through solution design, Statements of Work, commercial input, and identifying opportunities that create customer value.
• Mentor advisors while establishing best practices, frameworks, and standards that elevate the quality and consistency of advisory delivery within the Outpost24 Managed Services team.
• Drive the evolution of customer security programmes and advisory services, helping organisations strengthen their security posture and resilience over time.

What makes you our ideal candidate?

Industry Experience and Expertise:

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, ideally within a security advisory, consulting, managed services, or customer-facing technical role.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains such as Vulnerability Management, Application Security, Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, EASM, or related areas.
• Experience advising customers on security strategy, risk management, and security programme maturity.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Customer & Senior Mindset:

• Proven experience building trusted relationships with customers, including executive-level stakeholders.
• A consultative mindset with the ability to influence decision-making and drive meaningful outcomes.
• Confidence navigating complex customer challenges and translating them into practical solutions.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential, as it is our corporate language. Additional European language skills are a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
• A degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, but not a requirement.
