Job summary
Vertiv is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to drive growth in our Power business, focusing on electrical power distribution for data centres and mission-critical applications. This role blends technical depth with commercial development and collaborates with Sales teams and customers to design reliable, scalable power solutions from grid connection to low-voltage systems.
You will guide proposals, review RFQs, and deliver technical workshops while coordinating with engineering,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- 10+ years in electrical power distribution, technical sales, sales engineering or solution development.
- Strong understanding of medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
- Experience with switchgear, busbar/busway, UPS, electrical protection, power automation or related equipment.
- Demonstrable experience developing or supporting complex electrical infrastructure solutions.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate technical requirements into customer-focused solutions.
- Experience working with customers, consultants, contractors or engineering organisations.
- Data centre or mission-critical infrastructure experience is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Work with Sales teams to identify and develop opportunities across the electrical power distribution portfolio.
- Engage directly with customers to understand power requirements and future infrastructure needs.
- Develop technically and commercially appropriate solutions using MV and LV switchgear, busbar, UPS, protection and automation systems.
- Provide technical guidance through the sales process from initial discussions to proposal and solution development.
- Review specifications, RFQs and tender requirements and translate into technical solutions.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals and customer workshops.
- Collaborate with engineering, product and manufacturing to ensure viability and alignment with Vertiv capabilities.
- Act as a technical link between regional Sales teams and the Power Line of Business.
- Stay informed on developments across the power distribution market and changing customer needs.
- Support opportunity and pipeline management with accurate CRM data.
