Job summary

TU Delft invites applications for a 9-month research position in the Ethics/Philosophy of Technology section of TPM. The candidate will adapt the UNESCO Readiness Assessment Methodology to quantum technologies and test it with communities in Africa or Latin America, contributing to a global understanding of societal impact.

You will work with Dr Pieter Vermaas, TU Delft, and collaborate with researchers on ethical, legal and societal issues of quantum tech within the QDNL programme, including

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in teams.
  • Ability to work with communities in Africa and Latin America.
  • Ability to collaborate with researchers from other disciplines.
  • Good academic writing skills.
  • Proficiency in expressing yourself verbally and in writing in English.
  • Dutch language would be helpful but is not required.
  • Interested in participating in interdisciplinary educational activities.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and test the UNESCO readiness assessment methodology.
  • Be part of the Ethics/Philosophy of Technology section at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management, and work within the Dutch QDNL programme with collaborators.
  • Partake in the teaching of Ethics/Philosophy of Technology section.
