Job summary

At TU Delft, a postdoctoral position focuses on the spin dynamics of molecular and atomic spins on surfaces within the SPINOCCHIO project. You will work with pbcEOM-CC states and spin interactions to model spin relaxation and coherence times.

The project aims to advance understanding of spins on surfaces, providing design principles for longer spin lifetimes and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a leading research university.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related discipline.
  • Strong background in open quantum system dynamics and quantum many-body physics.
  • Experience with scientific programming is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Interest in supervising Masters and PhD students, and in grant writing.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out first-principles spin dynamics research on surfaces.
  • Develop and apply spin-phonon coupling models.
  • Collaborate within the ERC SPINOCCHIO project and publish results.
