Job summary

ISISPACE Group is seeking a Platform Software Engineer in Delft to establish and own the operational foundation for reliable and secure software delivery. You will bridge software engineering and IT operations, shaping deployment and operation practices across development and production environments.

You will collaborate with software and IT teams to implement tooling, CI/CD, monitoring, and automation, while maintaining high availability and security in a mission-critical space industry setting.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of practical experience in IT infrastructure, platform engineering, systems engineering, or IT operations.
• Experience managing infrastructure in on‑premise and/or hybrid environments, including virtualization.
• Hands‑on experience with containerized workloads (Docker or similar).
• Experience with version control (Git, self‑hosted GitLab) and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing monitoring, observability, or operational automation solutions.
• Comfortable making technical decisions and introducing new tools and processes where appropriate.
• Thrives in a small team with broad responsibilities and high autonomy; communicates well across software and IT disciplines.
• Container orchestration experience adds value (Docker Compose, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling, processes, and alerting to improve speed, reliability, and maintainability of software and infrastructure.
• Evaluate, maintain, and improve the infrastructure the software runs on.
• Support deployment pipelines, automation, and operational best practices.
• Safeguard availability of infrastructure, servers, and networks for continuous satellite operations.
• Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.
• Collaborate with IT on integrating services and managing resources and security.
• Shape long-term operational practices for future operability.
