Job summary

Cognizant Netherlands is seeking a Platform Operations Expert to own enterprise identity and OS platforms, focusing on Active Directory, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. Responsibilities include ensuring authentication services, cross-platform issue resolution, and safeguarding identity services essential to daily business operations.

The role covers AD replication health, Kerberos troubleshooting, GPO management, and cross-domain incident response, with a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Strong experience with enterprise identity and operating system operations.
• Advanced expertise in Active Directory replication, domain controllers, and FSMO roles.
• Deep understanding of Kerberos authentication, time skew, SPN management, and delegation.
• Hands-on with Group Policy, ADMX templates, and RSoP analysis.
• Solid experience with PKI (ADCS): CA hierarchy, templates, CRL/OCSP management.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server services (AD DS, DNS, DHCP) and Linux integration (RHEL).
• Experience with PowerShell and Bash for automation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve AD replication and domain controller health issues to ensure availability.
• Troubleshoot Kerberos authentication failures and related ticketing problems.
• Maintain SYSVOL integrity and manage GPO changes across environments.
• Respond to large-scale authentication outages and remediate cross-domain incidents.
• Diagnose and fix Windows Server and RHEL service failures and performance issues.
• Perform daily/weekly health checks across domain controllers, RHEL hosts, and PKI infrastructure.
• Maintain a dependency map covering DNS, VMware, AD, and backups.

About the Role

As a Platform Operations Expert – Windows Server · Red Hat RHEL · Active Directory PKI – you will take ownership of critical enterprise identity and operating system platforms that underpin authentication, access, and system stability across the organization. This is a high-impact, hands-on role focused on maintaining the health, security, and resilience of Active Directory, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.

You will operate at the heart of enterprise infrastructure, ensuring seamless authentication services, resolving complex cross-platform issues, and safeguarding identity services that business operations depend on every day.

In This Role, You Will

• Monitor and resolve Active Directory replication and domain controller health issues to ensure directory consistency and availability
• Troubleshoot Kerberos authentication failures, including time skew, SPN conflicts, and ticketing errors
• Maintain SYSVOL integrity and manage Group Policy (GPO) changes across enterprise environments
• Respond to and remediate large-scale authentication outages impacting multiple systems and services
• Diagnose and fix Windows Server and Red Hat RHEL service failures, including performance degradation and resource saturation
• Execute daily and weekly health checks across domain controllers, RHEL hosts, and PKI infrastructure
• Maintain and continuously update a dependency map covering DNS, VMware, Active Directory, and backup systems
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to resolve complex, cross-domain incidents

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

• Strong experience in enterprise identity and operating system operations
• Advanced expertise in Active Directory — replication, FSMO roles, SYSVOL, ADSI
• Deep understanding of Kerberos authentication — ticket lifecycle, SPN management, NTP synchronization, delegation
• Hands-on experience with Group Policy — GPO creation, RSoP analysis, ADMX templates
• Solid experience in PKI (ADCS) — certificate authority hierarchy, certificate templates, CRL/OCSP management
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server — AD DS, DNS, DHCP, Event Viewer, Performance Monitor
• Initial experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) — systemd, SSSD/realmd (AD integration), SELinux, firewalld
• Initial experience in PowerShell and Bash scripting for automation and troubleshooting
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex identity and OS-level issues in enterprise environments
