Job summary

Flexport is building a PSI hub in Amsterdam. You will own the platform roadmap, identify high-impact problems, and shape strategy while executing with autonomy. Lead platform engineers delivering CI/CD, tooling, and observability to empower hundreds of engineers daily.

You’ll stay hands-on, interview developers, review designs, and influence long-term strategy across platform, security, and infrastructure, helping shape Amsterdam engineering culture and hiring processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time building developer platforms, internal tooling, or infrastructure that other engineers depend on.
• 3+ years as an engineering manager, including experience owning a technical roadmap with high autonomy.
• Deep technical expertise in modern developer platform work: CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions preferred), container orchestration (Kubernetes preferred), build tooling across multiple languages, API gateway and service communication patterns (GraphQL, gRPC), IAM, and observability.
• Experience managing in a distributed, multinational engineering organization with clear communication across time zones and with remote leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the developer platform roadmap and drive prioritization for 12–18 months ahead.
• Lead a team of platform engineers building tools, systems, and paths used by hundreds of product engineers daily.
